hoosierhunter
I have several thoughts for you. Calling He won't respond to calling early. This will just educate him to your hunting stands and more than likely end you hunting him before you ever begin. Hunting Him Early If your in his home area now, he will not leave for significant amounts of time during the rut. I get the feeling that your so excited to hunt him that you will push to hard early and booger this deer for the entire season. I do not hunt my best areas until conditions and the rut timing are perfect. Patterning How many "occurances or triggers" does your camera have, not just pictures? You might have 50 pictures of this deer, but that doesn't count because it occured in one 12 hour period over one night. Is he showing up every 3rd day, every day, once a week, do you only have one trigger of him etc. How is he entering and exiting the camera sights. What time are the pictures being taken? These are all very important things to know.

wtnhunt
Have had pretty mixed results here with bleat calls in the early season, but this area gets a good bit of pressure and lots of people around using calls when they should not. Does may come to bleats early on, probably would not do much grunting until it gets closer to the pre rut, in which case does will sometimes respond to grunts. Rhino
To each his own but I don't use any calls until the bucks start cruising.

dbHunterNY
yea i just assume shut up like i'm nothing even there. later when bucks start chasing does you can but only if a buck is going away from you. if he might or is working toward you then don't make a sound. no reason to bother if he's headed your way.
