arrow32
how to get rid of them ******** I dot have hogs ere where I live and in thankfully for that. But from what I understand about them once you get a reproducing herd in your area it is pretty much impossible to get rid of them. All I can say is go out and shoot them and try an thin them out. Could be some real fun if you and some friends do it.

dbHunterNY
lots of time and bullets and you can thin them out but yea. i'd think lots of friends doing drives would work. shoot them all, but chances are you'll miss a few which will turn into more. however, at least their population be in check. Dawg
They can reproduce at 6 months so you gotta keep on your toes. Build you a good sized trap/holding pen. One with a spring loaded door that will allow them to push it open so they can get in but not out. Once most of the sounder is in the trap, start capping off on em. Remove the dead ones, more corn in, repeat process. That along with hunting them hard and heavy will reduce them and possibly eradicate them. Where are you located? Rhino
Yea...we got um too! I've had many hunts ruined by them too. I found out the hard way that hogs all smell the same to a deer no matter the size of the hog. Yep...,even the small ones! If deer catch scent of hogs they're out of there! There's really no way to get rid of all of them. Once you have um...you have um! You can only try to thin them out as best you can. By the book, you need to kill ~70% of the population annually just to keep them in check. Hogs are so nocturnal that's hard to do. Thinning options are getting hog traps to catch as many as you can. Also, kill everyone of them you see. Other than that, there's not much you can do. Edited September 12, 2012 by Rhino

redkneck
Trap and shoot them. You can't eliminate them, but you can pressure them out of an area for a while, unless you're in prime bottomland, then it's a constant battle. 535hunter
Sounds like you need some help. Invite all your friends and have a blast. If you do start taking care of your problem please don't just kill them and leave them. Donate as much as you can. I don't know if hunters for the hungry will take them but its well worth trying.
