I didnt have to go into work today so naturally I've spent the morning out at my place doing odds and ends. I go chek a camera that I have on a ridge top over in the woods. I never take a 4 wheeler in it as to not disturb it, so I walk in grab the card and climb in to my lock on to look at the pics on my digital camera. As I'm about to climb down I realize I'm hearing footsteps a good ways away but headed toward me. So I wait it out... Turns out its 4 bucks. The biggest being a ~125 mainframe 10 that I don't recognize but definitely would've shot. They fed on my ridge top and on each side of me for the better part of 30 minutes and I'm still waiting on the footsteps to disappear so I can ease out. The best one got as close as 35 and only presented me with difficult shots had it been season. Why couldn't this have waited until October?

Best pic I could manage. He's in center of frame.

Also found a shed this morning.

Cannot find the deer in your pic. Cool encounter, hope you see the big one again.

Deer were on their feet here mid day and it is in the mid 80's. Took my son and went to check on a calf I have been bottle feeding and decided to take a walk back to the back to see if where I sprayed round up over the weekend had browned up yet. Had at least 3 deer at our mineral site, that was about an hour ago.
