Turkeygirl
Working 3-11 last night, hospital went into lockdown, someone was murdered, guyon the loose. (mind you this is a very rural area, small town, these situations are almost unheard of). Guy was eventually found, killed himself after he shot a woman in the head, she was sitting in her car. Very sad, was the wife of an employee, I actually triaged the victim's spouse. Very very sad. Say a prayer for the people involved. I sure has heck have not had to deal with something like this...myself and the other nurse were on edge until we heard the guy was found and lockdown lifted. Leaves a knot in my stomach. Shoobee
Glad you are safe now Turkeygirl. Certain states forbid people the right to carry firearms either openly or concealed. Putting everyone into lock down mode makes everyone prisoners and potential victims as well. Criminals will always be illegally armed. Unfortunately Scalia in his Heller opinion grants the states these rights to make these decisions. http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/07pdf/07-290.pdf I think he and all 9 of the USSC justices have failed to see the true light of the 2nd Amendment. It's too bad they are all so blind. It is no suprise that the NYC justices on the Court are blind since they have been brainwashed their whole lives living there. It's unfortunate that the others are equally blinded however. Edited September 13, 2012 by Shoobee

The Bug House
Scary times last night! Wow! Sorry to hear that, glad you weren't hurt. The ED I work at per-diem was on lock down last year, shooting victim arrived via POV and was being chased by the shooter. Cops got him in our parking lot. I've been full time at a level 1 trauma center since April... being on the trauma team, I've seen tons of GSW's in just a few months! Scary! BuckNrut
Had a lockdown experience last year when I worked at the prison - some guy got caught with 5 pounds of deer meat in the courtyard. Got to x-ray lots of GSW survivors.
