redkneck
Just ask my dachshund if these little rattlers don't pack a wallop, came put on the losing end of the carport battle when I got home. I think he'll be ok when he gets done puking his guts up lol.

wtnhunt
Hope the dog is ok. This time of year here snakes usually are pretty active too, especially the water mocassins.

redkneck
Third timber rattler I've encountered this year. Two 5 footers and this little guy. Let one big one go, but took out the two that were on my property.
dbHunterNY
yea it's good we really don't have much for poisonous snakes up here.... i don't care to check my blind, but if i was down there i would. good to hear your dog's going to make it out with only a bad experience. Let one big one go, but took out the two that were on my property. A five foot timber rattler is a really big one. The few I have run across around here have not been more than 3 ft. Those sneaky little ones are the ones that most concern me with the kids outside, especially the copperheads. With leaves falling, cannot be too careful this time of year. redkneck
I had to look back and it was actually a year ago that I killed the first one, he was no doubt about 5', but I didn't take an after pic. Was going to let him leave the end of the driveway, but the dogs wouldn't leave him alone and I knew I was in for a vet bill. The other one was just a couple months or so ago, let him crawl away, didnt get a measurement, but he no doubt was in the 4-5 range.
redkneck
The big ones are deadly, and the little ones aren't too nice either, just ask Petey here.
