Ethan Givan
I don't know what the acorn crop is like in other parts of the country, but we have a pretty good one here this year. If you have acorns, and your season has already started, I would definitely suggest hunting them. The deer here are really pounding them right now. The deer really arent hitting the green food sources. The soybeans are turning yellow, and they are ignoring foodplots at the moment (they are mine anyway). I went for a little walk earlier today on a couple ridges where oaks are abundant, and saw alot of deer sign where they are feeding on acorns. Just thought I would bring this up kind of as a tip for anyone thats hunting now, or that will be soon. I wouldn't focus on the crop fields for now, I think a good stand of oaks dropping acorns is the ticket. Most everyone probably knows this, but a few may not have thought about it. Maybe it will help someone.

Shoobee
Seems like there are acorns everywhere here in Calif, and the doe's seem to be going after them like crazy. If you can find a water source with oak trees then you have found a good hunting spot.

wtnhunt
Surprising that we have a decent crop here, guess we got enough moisture early in the spring. Seeing a lot on the ground already, some near stands I plan to bowhunt.
