NS whitetail
I guess it all depends on personal preference. I have an Arctic Cat and I think it's awesome. I have friends who have Hondas, Yamahas, Suzukis, Polaris .......... and they all think they are awesome.
arrow32
4 wheelers I like Hondas. But I don't own any. If I did it'd probly be a Honda. But like I said don't own one.

Shaun_300
I have a 2008 Can Am Outlander, it's got the 500HO engine which is a fuel injected V-twin. Love the fuel injection in the winter, no choke to worry about. If it's -30 out you can just hit the start button and it starts up like a car! Tons of power too for a 500, it'll keep up to a 700 Grizzly no problem.
535hunter
Depends on you and what you plan on using it for. If your looking for bang for buck type wheeler than there is a lot to consider. Such as body weight and terrain your going to on. I know for me I don't believe in a thing called over kill.Bbut i do believe in not spending more than I need to since I'm a small guy around 155-160 lbs. So i would be looking for around a 400-500 cc wheeler. Now two or four wheel drive. A lot can be lost on this. two wheel drive is cheaper and sometimes can be just as useful as a four. lighter, faster could argue more fun also. Four wheel drive can go a lot more places but is more expensive. i would recommend getting one with power steering if your stomping grounds are in a rough and rugged area if not then there isn't much need for it. Personal preference. Now to brand names. They are like cars just like a lot of things you drive. Each on has things different from the other but they all do the same thing. Like a lot of the others that posted on this already said it all matters what you like and your preference. This is a very opinionated question you posted so that's what your going to get. I wouldn't say one is better than the other but some have better things in one aspect and some have better in other aspects. Boils down to what you like. I would go to a dealer and ride some and that should help. Now if your going on Craigslist to find one I would be careful since most instances there isn't a warranty and be wary of people and do your home work. Check for receipts form maintenance. The wheeler has more than likely beat up on since that's what happens and they are built for it. Again like buying a car. Obviously not the same thing but same concept. It falls on you to do your homework to know what is a good deal with out paying 3500 for one and finding out the engine has a major problem or something structural has gone wrong. Good luck with your search.
Adjam5
I have had great experiences with Yamaha products. My Kodiak 400 4x4 is a beast.

pruts
I just got a '06 Honda Foreman, and love it. I did alot of research and asked questions and decided on a fixed rear axel shaft driven machine because I plan on "working" with it. However it is a little stiffer ride than one with independant suspension. But no belt to worry about slipping or CV joints or boots to wear on when pulling stuff with it. Jeramie
Way too many options... I like honda products but personally own a Yamaha Bruin, 350cc. It does all I need and more and the autoshifting is excellent. There are several brands that are good quality machines. I would see what you can afford and then ask questions about that bike. For the money though I think Honda makes top shelf products. That being said I gave $1700 for my used Bruin and it has served me well... OKstate
Ive used a sportsman 850xp for a few years now and have no complaints. It does everything I have asked of it!
dbHunterNY
one that runs... I've had ATVs from Suzuki, Honda, and Yamaha that have all ran strong and well for more miles or hours than most have seen on an atv.
Rhino
For the money though I think Honda makes top shelf products. I'll 2nd that! I've owned 3 different brand ATV's in the past and without a doubt the Honda was best. I hunt in a club where a lot of different ATV's are used so I know what my hunting companions have gone through with them. Honda makes a top notch product. Personally, I'm an all electric UTV guy now using a Polaris EV. I prefer stealth 1st over anything else. If you're ever in the market for an electric UTV, as far as I'm concerned it's the top choice, hands down over ALL the others. With that said though...if Honda ever comes out with electric UTV, chances are I'll have one.
dbHunterNY
to continue off of what i said before, it depends on what you're using it for.... i think Honda Foreman ATVs are designed for work. I've got a standard shift 450 and the thing is bullet proof. It sits lower to the ground and is stable for towing or using ATV implements. The ride isn't as nice as many other utility ATVs that have more suspension and sit higher, like your Polaris and Yamaha ATVs.
Outlander500
I'm with Shaun_300 and Can Am Outlander 500. I have a 07 and it has more power and keeps up with the big boys. Some consider it hard on the wallet, but in my opinion you get what you pay for. Well worth the investment.
