ApexPredator
Anyone have any opinions of the Nikon Prostaff series rifle scopes? I just picked one up from Cabelas after my Simmons fell apart. Reviews on them are good but wanted to see if any of you have used one yet. I'll be hooking it up to a Savage .270. wtnhunt
Yep, good reviews for these scopes. Most of the scopes we have are nikon and they have all worked well for us. Only have one prostaff scope and have not shot the gun it is on yet, will be sighting it in the next day or two.

Randyman
I have a Pro Staff 2-7x32 on my CVA muzzleloader and would recommend them without hesitation.
dbHunterNY
I've got Nikon optics mostly. A Prostaff 3-9x40 sits on my primary hunting rifle. I've made shots just beyond 400 yards. I've punched single holes in paper at 100 yards so it seems to hold it's zero. No complaints. They're seriously bright too. If you can't see game in low light conditions with it, that means it's night time and you shouldn't be shooting.
johnf
Same results as dbHunterNY I've got them on a 243 and 25-06. I've shot out to 325 with it with no problems. It's more than enough scope for 99% of hunters out there. I generally don't have to sight it in unless I change ammo. It's never changed POI on me when shooting the same stuff. Don't waste money on cheap mounts if you're getting a decent scope.
i'm your huckleberry
very durable, bright, put a3-9x50 on a 300 win mag, (it didn't fall apart like those p.o.s simmons IMHO) .Hold zero well, 60 rounds through it still hasn't moved zero,by the way i roll my own ammo 85% of the time and yup they are hot. dbHunterNY
.....Don't waste money on cheap mounts if you're getting a decent scope. don't waste your money on cheap mounts period. i'm a big fan of good quality rings and bases with torx style screws. i've seen cheap scopes mounted well hold there zero all the same. i've also seen some of the best scopes out there collecting dust in a gun cabinet, because cheap mounts or poorly installed mounts ruined any confidence the hunter/shooter had in it. ApexPredator
Nikon Prostaff rifle scope? Good stuff folks! I appreciate the feedback. I got it in last night and will be getting it boresighted tomorrow and will dial it in this weekend hopefully . And yes - there will be good scope mounts involved! JayWheelock
I use one on my .308 and it is very nice. My favorite scope i have ever used
Chris_Johnson
Ive had multipile prostaff scopes and they all have been champs in my book. I used to have a 4x32 prostaff rimfire scope on my .45-70 and it handled the recoil like it was nothing. Very good choice of scopes if you are on a budget.
