Just got off the phone with Tim....

A little streak of bad luck has gotten the best of him. He's not getting to hunt this morning. On the way out he hit something in the road with the rental and the low pressure light came on. It's a 40 mile drive one way from where him and the family are staying and the hunting location. He's managed to just barely get the rental to a tire place and is pulling in as I type this. To put his luck into perspective Tim's only had about 4 flat tires in his life and 3 of them have been here in Kansas.

He was beyond frustrated, even before the tire issue happened. The bucks have been very finicky during early muzzleloader season in Kansas. He had a shooter show up like clock work close 7:34 every day, but then they lost their velvet. All the bucks seem to be showing an hour or so before and after dark now. Clint, one of the camera men, is a resident of Kansas and doesn't even hunt early muzzleloader season, because the deer are so tough to get on.

There's still hope though. Once the tire place gets Tim back on the road, he's still got this evening for his last sit. It's supposed to get up to around 80 F today, but the bucks are there. With a little change of luck one will show and give Tim an opportunity. Keep checking back to see if he drops the hammer on a monster buck.

Too bad about the bad luck Tim, honestly sounds about like how my luck seems to go most of the time. Got my first morning hunt of the year here Sunday morning before church with our archery opening this weekend. Watched a big bodied ear width tall racked shooter and 2 small bucks at the opposite end of my field where they walked within 20 yards of our box blind and right under where I hunt with my climber.

Going to give it one more try this evening... sounds like we are going to be in a new set-up sitting on a different bean field. Hopefully there will be a little more activity than what we have had the past few days, seems to be hit and miss. We are frustrated to say the least but at least we are able to be out hunting, could be a lot worse. Just a hard time of the year to hunt. Keep checking back and maybe we will have some successful pics to post later tonight!
