wtnhunt
Use a bushnell compact 800 here. It has worked fine.
dbHunterNY
I've got a Nikon Riflehunter 1000 and really like it. ranges things out to 1000 yards pretty easy and goes all the way down to 10 yards. display automatically turns from black to red when it's low light or in the shade looking at dark objects. it's got modes for straight line distance or only the horizontal component of the distance (angle compensation like you mentioned). the battery in it lasted a few years before i had to replace it, and that's being used all year long. i use it for both bow and gun hunting. texastrophies
I had a Nikon 1200 and the best I ever got out of it was between 750 - 800 yards on a building. Sold it on ebay for more than I paid for it and bought a Swarovski 8x30 rangefinder. Have hit over 1500 yards on it without a problem. With the 8x it can be used as a binocular also. I am happy with it.
propeller head
Nikon 550 never have maxed it but it goes down to 10 yrds. You canr see more than 100 yrds in a real good spot around here anyway.
250savage
I have the Bushnell Bowhunter Chuck Adams edition one and it's not too bad. I was on a limited budget and it was the cheapest one I could find at the time. It's a nice little rangefinder and from my experience it was good out to about 300? or so yards even though it claims to be 800. But then again I actually bought the display model they had at a local Dick's Sporting Goods so it may not be perfect. It works well for the short distance ranging you would need for bowhunting though and gives you the ARC calculation. Overall I like it and can't complain about the price. Trevor300wsm
I have the Bushnell Fusion 1600's LRF/Bino combo. I love them. I've used them alot for the past 2yrs both hunting and tac matches. They've been drug thru the rain, snow, sand, and mud. They've only not performed one time in some heavy fog. They glass in them is "ok". Definitely not on the level of Swaro or Ziess, but they are half the price.
deer slayer
What kind of range finders do you have? I got a Nikon 550 also and it works good for me.
