Trevor
No hockey on tv and the jr hockey season started today. My wife and i and friends went to the Budweiser Gardens to support the London Knights vs Erie Otters. Great game the knights won 8 to 2. Just have to get your hockey fix somewhere. Lots of talented kids in the jrs and get to see them play before they make it into the NHL.
Shaun_300
Sounds good! I love hockey! I live only about 15 minutes from Scotia Bank Place where the Ottawa Senators play. I make it to a few games a year, it's a blast! I've known Chris Neil's wife since I was a kid so I also have spent some time with him. Always a good time! Can't wait for this season to start, hope the Sens do well!
250savage
They better come to an agreement soon. I don't think I can handle a season without hockey.

Ultradog
Some day, when historians look back at the causes for the demise of this great nation, sports will be high on the list of causes. Our obsession with sports is killing us. Ask the 'man on the street' who their US Congressman or Senator is and like as not you will get a blank stare. But ask them who's on the starting lineup on their favorite team and they can probably rattle off a half dozen names. Some guys justify their sports viewing as just a way to relax, have a little fun and take their minds off of the burdens of life for a little while. But I know too many guys for whom sports have become an obsession - NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, plus all the college sports - to the detriment of their family, their marriage, their work and their intellect. It is all very sad.
The Bug House
NHL hockey I don't think it's looking good for this season. Luckily I've been able to go to several D1 college games a season.
The Bug House
I agree that an unhealthy sports obsession is no good, but I think that the positive lessons (Sportsmanship, Teamwork, Physical fitness, Discipline) outweigh the negatives. As far as causing cultural demise, pro sports come in way behind the likes of the Kardasians, Lindsay Lohans, Paris Hilton's, honeybobo's and about a million other dummy's that somehow pollute every media form with their inconsequential nonsense. pruts
Trever try checking out a 'stangs game, most are ex players from the OHL getting their education and being alittle older, bigger, and faster makes for some entertaining hockey. I played some SR against Chris Neil's brothers and then met up with them and their Dad at a union tournament a few years ago. Their a pretty cool bunch of guys. MUDRUNNER
They better come to an agreement soon. I don't think I can handle a season without hockey. It's not looking too good right now. After everything that happened with the last lock out, I was sure they would have an agreement before the season started this year. No dice though....it doesn't even sound like they have been in any serious negotiations yet, which amazes me. I hope they all pull their heads out of their rear ends soon so we can get some hockey this year.
muggs
Gary Bettman is the only commish dumb enough to allow this to happen...again. It's a shame. It's the greatest game to play, but this clown has made it irrelevant. Under his watch the game has been taken off of ESPN and put on some obscure channel only a few people actually get. He is terrible.
MUDRUNNER
Agreed Muggs. Three lock outs under supervision is unacceptable. There's something wrong with the guy. Like I said ,it amazes me that they haven't even been negotioating what so ever. Their last meeting was the 12th. I just read that they are meeting today to discuss last years revenue, but not a new CBA. Being that hockey is my favorite sport, it ticks me off to no end.
