Don't know about that kit Cody, if you get it let us know how it works out for you. For years I had a couple cheapy outers universal kits and the individual brushes I needed and just bought a better one piece rod. Probably about 10 years ago I bought my brush set and jag set and also bought another better tipton rod. Somewhere along the way also bought a bore guide.

Haven't had one, but I quit putting hard rods down the muzzle end to the bore.

I just don't want to take a chance on messing up the rifling. I use a bore snake,

and a cleaning tool I bought on line, can't remember the name of it, but it resembles

the plastic line on a weed eater. One end is sharpened to a point, and you slide down a patch to the other end, then put it through your barrel from the back to the muzzle,

works great . It's cheap, I'll try to find out where I got it.

The ONLY gun cleaning equipment I use now is "Otis". After seeing a couple live demos where I got to try it myself I was convinced to buy a kit. I bought the Elite kit. It does everything from .17 to .50 cal. both rifle and pistol as well as shotgun and muzzleloader. The brushes are almost indestructable. Once you get the hang of it the patch system is great and economical.

Otis is supplying the military with all their cleaning rigs and supplies. The company is continually designing new products for the cleaning job. In my opinion the cleaning solution is second to none.

Everything they sell is made right here in the United States. I know this for fact as the plant is about 40 miles from my home and the owner is a good friend of mine.

haha... always thought about trying to Otis system. never knew they were that close. i've got a Rem 742 and 7600 that it'd work great on. tough to clean them without being ignorant and cleaning from the muzzle.

Check out their website www.otisgun.com

You couldn't find nicer folks to deal with.

This company was started by Doreen Garrett when she was about 16 years old. She dropped her gun while hunting with her dad and didn't have a good way to clean it in the field. She designed the original kit and opearted out of the family home and garage then moved into an old building. Now they are housed in a multi-million dollar facility which is state of the art in Lyons Falls NY.

They supply the military as well as police and law enforcement agencies all over the world. Doreen has never lost track of her roots. She and her husband Jody do more for our QDMA youth events than you can imagine.

They also own The Lucky Star Ranch in Chaumont NY. They open the 2000 acre ranch to our QDMA branch for our annual ice fishing derby, Youth shed hunt and Youth Outdoor Adventure Day every year at no charge and donate generously. I believe the website is www.luckystarranch.com
