WStreblo
It's sad anymore that hunting season and poaching goes hand in hand anymore. Been watching a nice buck for going on three years now, passed on him last year as a 140 + bruiser just to be told after I got off stand today by a neighbor that two days before the opener around 230 am a rifle rang out and big boy hasn't been seen again. Trail cams had daily photos like clock work... I find out who did it I'm cutting your tree down with you in the tree stand buddy.
PriceRacing35
I hate a poacher Thats a stud. Wow very very low. Not good enough to take em with a bow. We've had that happen a lot. Even leave them rack and all laying in a field to rot. Conservation has never acted. Even after the proof. Karma is a b***h though. They'll get their own. bjohnston0311
I hate a poacher wow...sickening! in tx, we have a program called operation game thief put on by the tx parks and wildlife. they do a good job and have $$ incentives for tips leading to a conviction. they do a damn good job considering how thin spread they are in the state. poachers would much rather the game warden get them than me! layin on the smackdown
More times than not, the big boy will out smart the poacher...don't be suprised if you get more pics of him in the future. They don't get big from being stupid, and at 230 am in late september, he's not gonna stand around for a photo shoot with bright lights on him. Rut yes, now, i doubt it. dan

wtnhunt
Great deer, hope the poacher did not get him. I would be fuming too. Wish our wildlife folks here were able to keep up with more, like was said above they are spread way to thin.
Turkeygirl
If I had a buck that size last year come in, I wouldn't have passed him up...guess it's the risk you take letting already big deer get bigger....
Turkeygirl
Bucks are changing patterns now though...I had a few bucks showing up like clockwork few weeks ago...once the velvet came off, a week or so later I get a pic here or there, mainly at night...your buck may still be out there

So you are ass-u-me-ing someone shot him before the season, just because you heard a rifle shot. Could have been killed by a bowhunter. Could have holed up due to the increased human pressure from bowhunters. Could have been chased away too. It is illogical and all sour grapes to ass-u-me anything at this point without further data. Exactly right. The only ones I let get away are the spikes, hoping next year they will become forks.
