N8J
We are having one of the best acorn crops I have seen in a long time at my house! You could fill a 5 gallon bucket and not even move! Anyone else have good acorns?

too_pointer
Same here in Michigan. Most of my own trees put out the darker, smaller brown acorns. They aren't the favorite type for the critters, but in the woods, a tremendous crop of the much bigger, lighter colored ones that the deer love. It will make hunting much harder with all the food. too_
wtnhunt
Our property is loaded with mature oak trees. Hunting could be tough early season, two months ago I would have said food would be short and deer would be looking for food, but not looking now like that is gonna be the case. We had a pretty bad drought here, but it evidently did not hurt the acorn crop so much. Not as many acorns as last year, but way more than I expected. ChrisSeb53
I had some deer patterned before the season, now there are hardly any deer going to the food plots because of all the acorns. Not only that, mostly all of the oak trees are dropping making it that much harder to hunt over acorns! The deer are so spread!
Tominator
Too many is actually probably a bad thing. 2 years ago we had a record mast crop in Ohio and it really spread the deer pretty thin. Theory was they didn't have to move much because food was everywhere. Looks like we have an above average crop here too, but not nearly what it was a couple years ago. Flintlock1776
They have been dropping for over a month here. Not overly abundant but I have been seeing plenty of does since.
