Jeramie
So its odd, we went from another 100deg + weeks of crazy summer to fall hitting hard early... or at least what fells like fall! We had the windows open last night and it got COLD in the house. Got up to check the temps at at 4:30 we were sitting at 46. Even after getting ready for work we were still at 46! I told my wife, "Somewhere in NE Oklahoma a bow hunter is sitting in his stand smiling from ear to ear." The good news is this weather is stretching through the weekend. We are only suppose to see 50's friday and saturday with a mild frost Saturday night! I typically skip early season because it is still often 85+ during the day here in early October. With weather like this my neck is swelling and im already planning my hunt on Friday!
ckrich
It's great! I got reports of heavy deer movement yesterday afternoon that made me wish I had climbed in a stand. I'm going to make it a priority to go out tomorrow afternoon when that cold front is supposed to push down. I don't think I've ever had to consider insulated camo in early October before, but I'm loving it!
Dawg
46? I'm jealous. Mid 50's here the last two mornings. It's better than what we were having so I'll take it. Planning on hunting most of the day on Saturday.
redkneck
Been nice here too. Not quite 46, but extremely nice for opening week of bow season. Hope to get out by Friday for sure and hunt as much as I can. Warm weather and mosquitoes will be in full force soon again, better enjoy it while it lasts. wtnhunt
Real nice here this morning too Jeramie. Had 49 on the thermometer and calm, but we are supposed to get in the mid 80's today and tomorrow. Supposed to be another front move in here Friday with highs in the 50's and lows in the 40's and then Monday a low in the morning in the mid to upper 30's. Kids are out of school, I plan to get out Monday morning. Good luck on Friday.
OKstate
This weekend should be great. Im in the same position as you as far as waiting on cooler temps! Although this is a little strange I cant wait until friday to put on a jacket and climb a tree!!
Tominator
Supposed to cool down here pretty good too. Can't complain the last few weeks have been pretty mild compared to summer.
MCH
I hunt in the hot temps every year. Sure is nice to see the temps drop though. Will mean more hunters in the woods thats for sure.
c_lou
Suppose to be 78 today and only 56 tomorrow, even cooler on through the weekend. I usually don't like to hunt early in the season, but these cooler temps should have the deer up and moving.
ckrich
Woke up this morning to the day's high temp of 53! It feels good to be back in my hooded sweatshirt. Last night I went and sat in a stand for the first time this season, and I'll admit that it was the first time I had ever thought about needing another layer during the first week of October. I love fall!
