propeller head
I like matthews but you need to try them all and find what suits you best.
stevebeilgard
lots of good bows out there, and bow makers. each bow shop will let you shoot multiple bows. i'll go along with propeller head and suggest you try every bow of each manufacturer, and see which one you like. try not to let money be the main issue. if you like one bow substantially over another, but it 50 dollars more, wait until the seller has a sale or you have the extra 50 dollars, whichever comes first. just like automobiles, you'll find bow dealers have varying prices. go for the best bow for you, then compare prices with other shops. good luck
soillap
Agree with the above answers but would add in my area most shops only carry the big sellers(Matthews, bowtech, etc.). Look at all makes and models. I shoot a High Country speed pro and for me it's the best bow I've shot. It may be different in your area but it's not a popular bow company around here. I guess what I'm saying is just because it's not newest and most popular doesn't mean it's not worth looking at.
bowhunter42
go into bills in Enid they will let you shoot the bows in there but for the most part they only have mission and mathews which are both great bows but I agree with everybody else shoot a bunch of them before buying. country gal
any suggestions You'll know it when you find it. The place I got mine let me put it in lay a way, so there's an idea of something you can ask when you find the bow that's right for you. Ethan Givan
I would first decide how much you want to spend on one. Then after you have a budget, go look at, handle, and shoot as many bows you can that falls inside that number. Buy whatever feels the best to you. Most of the bows being made today are good shooting bows, its just personal preference.
bowhunter97
Go find a bow you want. Go on archerytalk.com. There are tons of bows in the womens and youth section. My buddy's girlfriend got a brand new Bear Siren with the 30-40 lb limbs but as she gets stronger she can upgrade the limbs. Stick with it and get up to like 50lbs then you will be slaping deer in no time.
Adjam5
Archery shops are fickle in lots of ways. Many tell you the bow they sell is the best one. Thats why they are selling it. They don't tell you we switched to selling this brand because we get them cheaper and can sell at a higher mark up. Also...When you go into a archery shop, don't tell them your not buying right away... just trying them out. They might abandon you since you are not buying/spending. Especialliy if the store is busy. Which most are about this time of the year. I started with a used bow for $100 and worked my way up to a Matthews. Shoot as many bows as you can and you will know whats right for you. Having a budget helps.
