bbarcheryhunter
I'm taking a friends son out sat for junior season here in pa. We r aloud to shoot a doe only with a rifle during bow season also muzzle loader season starts for doe only. So I'm really looking forward to it. Always wanted to take someone out and hopefully we can shoot something. my children r not old enough to hunt yet but in a couple years they will b. I took them out sat for squirrel but we only seen one and that was pretty far off. My oldest is 9 now and next is

Rhino
Besides my own son when he was young...sure have...quite a number of times. Both deer and turkey hunting in the spring. Take a lot of water and/or a soft drink or 2. Also put a bag of candy in your pocket or pack. Look for things to glass with your binocs to take up the slack time before deer arrive. Kids are usually amazed at what some other critters look like and what they do when you can glass them.
wtnhunt
It is a lot of fun. My oldest daughter started real early, had her walking with me when conditions were good when she was probably about 4 years old. She killed her first deer at 9, she is 16 now, got a couple of her deer on video. Taking my second daughter this year with her going to hunt for the first time, she is 11. She has been in the stand a lot, but never as the hunter. Special with her because she has had to have a couple surgeries on her chest(not cancer, but grows tumors without any warning) and I have been a bit overprotective with letting her shoot anything bigger than a .22. She proved herself with the .243 this weekend though shooting a group a dime would cover with her mother's savage model 10. My oldest daughter's boyfriend has never been hunting and I will be taking him some this year as well. Kid is getting excited and me excited for him. Of all the deer I have killed, none really compare to seeing the excitement on a kids face. Really does not get any better than spending time with the kids. Ethan Givan
I have taken my little brother turkey hunting and deer hunting. I have been with him on all three of the turkeys he has killed. I enjoy it alot. He turned 16 this yr so he can go on his own now, but if I had to guess, he will probably be asking me to go with him anyway lol

arrow32
ever take a junior Hunter out ? I've taken a couple out. Only one of them was able to shoot. Plenty of chance but with kids I guess you can't push them. The that did shoot missed. There were 5 doe and a spike he wanted the spike I told him ok. It was only 20 yards away he got a little excited and missed.lol but you still just had to see his face pure aderiline rush.
WHISKEYSWAMP
I've taken my 10 year old stepdaughter out a couple times turkey hunting and last weekend for her first deer hunt until we got rained out. She passed her hunter safety of few weeks ago so hoping to find a crossbow for next year. She's a little intimidated by guns but wants to bow hunt. ChrisSeb53
I am 24 and I hunt in PA so I can't shoot a doe with a rifle during the youth season. My dad however, took a junior hunter out on Thursday of this week and he was fortunate enough to harvest a doe. I think it is wonderful that you are taking your friends son out for the junior season. The youth are the future to our hunting and conservation heritage. Thanks for being a true outdoorsman!
swohiodave
I took my exgirlfriends brother out for youth gun and he bagged his first deer. I have never seen someone so excited in my life.
