Kevo72
I am trying to figure out how to make using my climber a little easier and safe. I own a Gorilla Silverback climber. The foot strap which came with it keeps coming loose and I am afraid to lose the platform while climbing. My buddy has a Summit and he said his has stirrups. I got on line and found them for about $23. They say they fit all Summit and most commercial brand climbers. Does anyone know how well Summit stirrups work with other climbers or does anyone have ideas on how to improve the system which I currently have in place which isn't very good to start with? wtnhunt
They work well with my summit, don't know if they would on the gorilla climber or not. If it has the angled bar going back to the tree they should work. Some climbers the bars fold and not too sure how that would work out. The foot strap which came with it keeps coming loose and I am afraid to lose the platform while climbing. Be sure to tie the top and bottom sections together at a length you can easily reach. Kevo72
Summit Climber Stirrups Yea I have it tied together. It is thought of it being a pain in the ass which gets me!
535hunter
You could make new loops out of paracord and then tie the two loops together in the middle. I used the supplied straps and made them work that way. I know the stirrups will work on my API but does the gorrila have round tubes? That would be the major issue you could run into. they're are a few ways I'm thinking of to fix the problem your having but its some work. Could weld in stirrups but that messes with the ability to collaspe the stand for transport. Also you could use the pull tight straps but noise is and issue also could use bungy cords but I don't know about that just popped into my head. Good luck hope it works out for you
Kevo72
Summit Climber Stirrups No the gorilla has square bars. On Summits website it says it fits 1 in bars and that is what mine is. I never thought about paracord loops, but I am hoping the summit stirrups work because I don't want to be fiddling with that I'm the wee early hours
wtnhunt
Have a gorilla greyback aluminum climber here and after looking at it closer I am pretty sure the stirrups will fit the stand. I never tried them on mine though. If your gorilla is like the one I have the bars they would mount to fold in for the platform to lay flat when being carried. The stirrups would not be able to be attached when the platform bars are folded.
Kevo72
Summit Climber Stirrups Yeah I figured that, I would have to keep them in the storage bags. Luckily they only attach by a wing nut to tighten. I suppose I should have bought a summit to begin with!
dbHunterNY
i think you're definitely good to go if you put them on higher up and move them down before you climb maybe? that way they're always attached and you don't have something else to carry or even lose. i use my Summit with the stirrups all the time with no complaints. the hooks are plastic and give some when you tighten the wing nuts. every once in a great while you snug the wing nuts tight again. they should come with a bungie cord which is important. it hooks to the rails on top or tree side of the stirrup hooks. you put your foot in the stirrups with the cord behind your foot. this keeps you hooked in when your toes are pointing down, moving the platform up or down the tree. Kevo72
Summit Climber Stirrups I got the stirrups in the mail today. I think they will work great. Came with a bungie also with made me happy. I was hoping to get them today so I can get them on before the weekend. Suppose to have a cold snap move in. But it is hard to want that when it is currently 83 at 5:24 in toward the end of October.

Kevo72
I used my climber with the stirrups on this morning. 1000% difference. And my confidence in using my climber has went up considerably. I just can't believe the difference those stirrups make. I actually enjoyed being in it. And when I was up in it I spied a tree a buck had demolished while rubbing on it. I went to investigate said tree and found some new prints and a whole tree line of rubs....and good ones too! So I made shooting lanes on both sides of the creek. My stand is dang near in the creek so I am between the two sides. So no matter which way the wind blows I can set up according to wind direction and place scent wicks accordingly. It is a wonder what new stirrups can do for ya! Happy hunter right now and did not even bag anything!
