PriceRacing35
Am I stupid? It's 77, cloudy and looking like rain from the stand here in SW Missouri. Blowing 10-15, gusts up to 20. Skunked this morning. Hoping for some redemption to save the weekend as the winds start to die down. Not long now.
bowhunter42
This is my 8th hunt and I have only seen deer on 2 of those 8! I don't know where the deer are!

PriceRacing35
Am I stupid? Missed the one 10pt Saturday morning. Got skunked Saturday night and this morning. Sat in a very unlikely location in a patch of timber about 300yards x 75 yards. Edges were lined with scrapes. So I sat at the pinch point. I rattled at about 5:35pm and waited no less than 10minutes. Sat down. Saw something that didn't quite fit. I figured it was buck fever..then it moved. I saw bone and my heart started pounding. Turned out just to be a really odd fork that from the side looked like a shooter with a forked G2..lol. None the less, at least calling is picking up. That's my weekend in a nut shell. bowhunter42
Its supposed to cool off Thursday evening and be pretty cool this weekend which is the opening of muzzle loader season so hopefully the rut picks up and we have some movement start! ckrich
I'm fairly certain that anything within a half mile could have smelled me as much as I was sweating Saturday evening. 40 degree temp swings are no fun, unless the mercury is dropping. dbHunterNY
even though activity drops during the day then, you won't kill a deer on the couch in the AC. no you're not stupid. lol are you hunting under cover or next to water under cover? deer don't leave the country side if it gets hot... you just have to hunt different and in different locations. Lance_M
I second that, I made the poor choice of using a climber Sunday morning, sweating profusely by the time I was up the tree and set up. Can't wait for the supposed cooler temperatures this weekend. I'll be in a tree all day Fri-Sun at McAlester.

I was hunting cover near water in the evening and in the morning I was hunting a couple hundred yards from the pond but could see tthe whole pond and all I saw in the pond was cows...
