redkneck
Very slow start, but got in a tree yesterday for a short hunt on private land. Young 2.5 y/o 8 walls out and I decide it's time to put meat in the freezer. Drew back and calmly took aim. Was disappointed to see partial penetration in the shoulder, maybe 8 inches or so. Deer ran, crashed into an old fence, got up and left again. Blood was extremely sparse and lost him in pine plantation. Really makes me sick. Just glad he wasn't a wall hanger. Going to make another look in daylight this morning then head to my lease for redemption. The meat is spoiled regardless.
redkneck
PS- it was a muzzy mx3, 400 grains of total weight, 290 or so fps. It can happen with any setup at times, I don't fault my equipment, I should have pulled my shot back a bit. wtnhunt
Any luck? Unfortunate to ever lose a deer, still a bit frustrated with myself over the one I lost this season and it was not a wallhanger either.
hoosierhunter
I'm just snake bit I'm the same way partner. This season has me dumbfounded with my bow. I've single lung hit two does and couldn't find either one after very extensive tracking and grid searching. Combine that with a miss and the frustration is very high. Stick with it.
