jbeck
Saturday I got in the stand early, at 4 oclock I had a wide heavy 6pt. come up behind me. I stood and got ready cause he was about to cross my wind, at 35 yards he turned broadside and started feeding on acorns. I came to full draw, aimed a little low and released. I mean to tell you the buck just about turned himself inside out ducking out of the way of that arrow. Clean miss right over his back. I did get to watch him for another 20 min. 60 yards below me on the bench running trails and scent checking for does. Then at 5 I had a wide 8 come in below me looking for does, I bleated and he came up onto my bench but didn't see his girl that should have been waiting. He just kept chasing right out the bench looking for her, he never came closer than 50 yards. It was a great day to be in the woods, and I can't wait till I can get there again. redkneck
You're seeing more than me! Have yet to see a mature buck from the stand, but with better and cooler weather hopefully they'll be on the move soon. Getting the kids out now and seeing lots of young bucks, but not much else. Sounds like you didn't spook him though, so maybe one of the two will be back next time.
