Beasthobbs
If I'm hunting mid day during the rut, is it better to be inside the thick woods or edge of a field???
Ethan Givan
A funnel or pinch between two bedding areas is where I like to be mornings and midday. I like to be close to food sources in the evenings.
Beasthobbs
mid day rut hunting You don't do anything different when it's prime rut??
kcall
mid day rut hunting Spend a little time at all of your stands during the rut until you find that hot doe that's ready to breed. Or hunt pinch/funnel routes between two doe bedding areas during the rut
whitetailfreak55
I hunt pinch points or travel corridors from bedding to food sources the does go to food sources and the bucks will follow
Tominator
Seems to me chasing tends to take place more in woods than out, but I've seen plenty of does being chased in the wide open fields. Kind of depends on where the doe wants to go!

dbHunterNY
yup i'll second the funnels and pinch points especially between bedding areas. pending the wind is right hunt inside the woods off trails you see doe commonly using to enter the field. many times bucks will chase them around staging just in the woods. when they do come out into the field they hardly ever stop, but they will many times skirt the edge look out there for deer then tuck back in.
