bowhunter42
Hey everybody I had a question about owning a handgun if you are under 21 I know the law is you can't buy one if you are under 21 but can you still own one? Like somebody gets it for you for Christmas or something like that? And also how would that be registered? Thanks in advance! Hope to get some help! BTW Im from Oklahoma if that makes a difference
robbiethekid
gun question I'm pretty sure the law states that a person under 21 can't own or carry a handgun. It can be a gift but just couldn't leave the property until person is of age. And would have to be registered to parent or guardian. That's basic USA law. But look in to law more for your state and area to see what differs.
LETMGROW
In Ny state the permits are handled county by county by the sheriff's dept. Contact your local agency and ask. Find out for sure in the jurisdiction you live in. Laws vary from state to state and county to county etc. Don't look for answers here. Ask a local gunshop who sells handguns who to contact for answers. They should be able to help you. Lynn
