hoosierhunter
Wow is all I can say. The first 4 days of the hunt were the best hunting I've ever experienced. 3 booners and a 160 was astonishing. I also had the 180, Kansas, at 18 yards. Full draw, heart pumping out of my chest and letting down because it wasn't an ethical shot. I passed at 62 yards on the 160's 10 as well. I have no regrets about not shooting either time. Yes a kill would have been great, but that doesn't outweigh the potential of wounding such majestic deer. Brian killed Kansas and he grosses 179 5/8ths. He's a beautiful deer. I will return to the lease again in late season and see what happens!

Ravin R10 man
Good for you! some would have took the shot, gut shot or mortally wound it, and then come back and ask what should I do now??

dbHunterNY
bigger deer than i've seen... congrats to him and good luck to you upon your late season return. if it got your heart racing that's what it's all about. sure it won't be your last opportunity on a buck that big, even though that's big for anywhere. hoosierhunter
DB It was just unreal. I've seen some very big deer before, but never 4 bucks in 3 of 4 sits! Sunday night I saw 7 or 8 bucks and all but one were 120 or better! My buddy was joking and asking what high fenced ranch I was hunting in. It seemed that darn near every time I called a buck came to check it out. At one point from 3:45 to 4:15 I had 5 bucks show up. I'd watch one and look another way and here comes another. Talk about making your head spin. It's 40 degrees wind blowing 20 mph and I can't feel my toes and fingers. I'm shaking from the cold, shaking from bucks running everywhere, tree is shaking. It would have made some unreal video with bucks chasing directly under the tree on full runs and a big buck fight in the field.
Rhino
That's one great road trip there Pat! Can't say I've ever seen that many shooters in 3 or 4 sits. You've got one heck of nice place there in KS. Hang on to that sucker!!! Good luck on your late season trip. Oh...congrats to Brian too!
