I can't see why they are so expensive though. My dad bought a Barnett quad 400 and I can hit a tennis ball consistently at 70 yards. I'd recommend the fastest you can get simply because of the energy delivered behind the bolt. I'd also invest in some type of cocking device as opposed to manual cocking. 3whunt Posted November 30, 2012 Report Share Posted November 30, 2012 I went with Horton due to the fact that it is a recurve crossbow...no cam/wheel issues. You do lose some speed, but the lack of moving part issues is worth it to me. No issus shooting to 40 yards and that is typically the max for me.
