Jeramie
+1 Not something I'd want to be eating for breakfast. +2 not a fan of liver anyway, for breakfast makes it much worse.
Strut10
Liver = gutpile. Only legitimate use I have found for liver is to chunk it and let it rot a bit then use for fox trapping bait. But I'm glad you enjoyed yours. To each his own.

redkneck
Would have liked to have been there for supper, then excuse myself before breakfast! Deer liver is good if you know how to prepare it and you like beef liver of course. I like it once in a while, not something I save myself. Ravin R10 man
After I saw liver flukes in a deers liver...it turned me off from having it..but I didnt mind having a meal of it if it was a young deer with a good healthy liver..kinda with the rest nowdays..coyote food
Ultradog
LOL I guess there's not a lot of liver eaters here. I guess it's what you grew up eating. I always liked it. How about the heart? Do you guys throw the heart away too? That would be a shame. I love the heart. Boil it for a couple of hours and then let it cool overnight. Slice it up and make great sandwhiches for lunch. Edited December 5, 2012 by Ultradog
Strut10
NEVER toss the heart !!! Had a couple deer hearts at Mom's last Saturday when we came in for lunch.
Tominator
I tend to ruin my deer hearts with the shot, so I can't honestly say.
Shaun_300
Not a huge fan of liver here either, I have tried it a couple times and must say, it's not disgusting or anything, but not my favourite. Has to be fresh and hot out of the frying pan, I'll eat a few pieces a year at the camp for something different. Wouldn't even consider trying a heart. Something about eating an organ that pumps X amount of times a minute for X amount of years turns me off wanting to eat it. Everyone has their own tastes though, glad you enjoyed your breakfast.
