Scbasshunter
Do you line your broadhead blades up with your fletchings or not? Do you think it makes a difference either way?
redkneck
Makes no difference.
kcall
Fletching and blade alignment. I don't bother about it
whitetailfreak55
I don't do it probably wouldn't hurt
KSHoytHunter
Fletching and blade alignment. I've never lined em up. This is actually the first time I've ever heard about lining em up
Scbasshunter
Fletching and blade alignment. I had somebody tell me it would improve accuracy and the flight of the arrow. It really seems like too much trouble to be honest.
hoosierhunter
Fletching and blade alignment. Yes I do align my blades with the veins. This does make a difference on longer shots. Try shooting 50 with one aligned and one not. You can actually see the arrow behave slightly different in the air. It might not seem significant but then again bowhunting is about precision. 1/16th of an inch can be the difference between a dead deer and a wounded one. This is one reason why mechanicals are a benefit. No need to align and a larger cut.
dbHunterNY
it helps with longer shots... there's less turbulence and drag if they're aligned. some broadheads don't allow this and kill deer every day of the season. how do you align a four blade broadhead with three vanes? lol it doesn't hurt so if you can, then do it. otherwise, make sure things are tuned and don't worry about it at all. abrown
I align my broadheads with my vanes also. I read some where that it allows for a more stable arrow flight. I had a guy tell me to align them opposite of your fletchings, and it would be more stable, LOL, ya right. Apparently he's never tuned a 3 blade broadhead before, even adjusting the nock a little will increase the accuracy on an arrow. FYI, you don't want helicals, go with offset or straight fletching, makes a BIG difference!
Ethan Givan
I always line them up. I cant say if it makes a difference or not, but it makes me feel better.
RUTNSTRUT
It does not help accuracy, it's an old archery wives tale. However if it makes you more confident, that's all that matters.
hoosierhunter
Fletching and blade alignment. I stand corrected. After some research it's more about a misaligned insert causing a wobble in the broad head when spin tested.
abrown
LOL, I haven't read ANYTHING yet that says it affects the accuracy, SO I guess it's whether you want to waste the time doing it or not. Looks like I have been!
Ravin R10 man
I align my heads with my vanes also
Turkeygirl
I try to but don't always....don't really see any difference but most of my shots are 20 yards or closer.
Straight Shooter
I do and always have aligned my broadheads wit my fletchings. Of course paying attention to insert and knock sqaure is even more critical. I good arrow spinner will tell you whether or not you will have good arrow flight. Lining your broadheads up with fletchings can't hurt and yes it takes some time to do this, but I have found over the years that it has greatly helped the accuracy on longer shots. It is a moot point for 4 blade and mechanicals.
