i've been a bowhunter for many years

i bought my wife a crossbow as she is left handed and right eye dominent i thought she could do this much easier.

this year we were hunting together but when i shot my deer i ranged it at 76 yards

to far for my mathews so i grabbed the wifes crossbow.

it was the smartest way to take this buck as it has a 75 yard crosshair and will put them right in the X.

i know it was the right thing to do so why do i feel like i cheated or something.

it was my target buck and tammy had a different buck she wanted.

Haha, I guess because you did something you almost certainly would not have done with your bow. Congratulations on your success, post up a pic and welcome to the forums.

For what its worth, I think 75 is really pushing the limits with a xbow. Its not your ability to shoot at that distance, just the likelihood the deer moves to much at the sound of the shot. I'm glad you got your deer though!

Maybe you feel bad because it was your wife's xbow and not yours! (LOL)

I've been a compound user since the 80's. Got a ten point stealth 2 days ago. I love it!

55 yards is my limit this year, but in time I may move out to further distances - depending on how I do with it. I will take it over my compound every chance I get. In IL xbows are only allowed second half of archery season.
