What's everybody use for a deer rifle?

I use a Weatheryby Mark V Accumark in .257 Weatherby Mag. I bought it a couple of years ago and I have never shot a whitetail that did not fall over in its tracks (5 deer). Also, every so often I pull out my Winchester 94 .30-30 if I'm in the hardwoods. The .30-30 was the first gun I ever owned. My dad gave my brother and I a pair of them for our Christmas present back when we were 18.

Shoot straight & stay safe,

I use a Savage 14 in American Classic chambered in 250 Savage. I have an older 2-7x33 Redfield Wide View Scope on it and it shoots one hole five shot groups at 100 yards with 100 gr. Winchester Silver-tips.

I have a similar deer rifle that I love. A Ruger M77 in 250-3000 with one of the new Redfield Revolution 2-7x33s on it. You and I have similar views on matters it appears. I also have a Paul Jaeger 30-06 with a Kahles 2-7x36 that I love just as dearly.

The M77 has a shortened stock (3/4 of an inch) and a muzzle break that can be screwed off and replaced with a cuff; it is set up as a youth gun. The trigger and safety were also customized by a Paul Jaeger gunsmith back in the 80s. It was a gift to me from my dad and was my first deer rifle. I killed two deer with it last year for the first time in 20 years. I had forgotten how much I love it. I hope to have my sons kill their first deer with it.

Great gun you have there! Sounds like you can shoot it well!
