LifeNRA
Man this was a ROYAL pain in the butt!!! I kept getting the message, "CAN NOT WRITE TO DRIVE C:" Started a thorough Scan disk, it said that there was fatal errors that can not be fixed. So i figured, I might need a new drive. I barely got on to Gateway's web site, after seeing the blue screen of death and thousands times! I got into their chat part, and found out which drive will work in my PC. I had two options, 1. 40 GB Ultra ATA 100 @ 7200 for $58 2. 80 GB Ultra ATA 100 @ 7200 for $65 I picked number 2! A no brainer! So I get the drive the very next day, Buy.com is awesome in fast delivery. I get the drive in, realize I need to formatte, then reconize the other CD-ROM drives, then after re-formatting for the SIXTH TIME THIS WEEK!!! Only since the new drive was installed everything ok SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOOOOOOOOL NOW!!!!!! Running like new, so I believe I made the right desicion on how to fix this old PC. Oh, if anybody ever has to do this, make sure you get the screws to attach it to the bracket! Mine didnt have any in the box!

These PC's are great when they're working, but a real pain in the Keester when they don't.
