535hunter
Just saw a post on the American Archers face book page. A man has been hunting for 27 years and still has yet to get a buck. I can't help but feel for him but applaud his persistance. What would you do? Hang it up or keep at it? I would keep at it until I'm physically unable to or the fire burns out. stevebeilgard
i guess i love hunting too much to be discouraged and not hunt. i think hope springs eternal, so i'd just keep hunting. but, i'd most likely try hunting something or somewhere different. Scbasshunter
27 years Shooting a doe with a bow is just as exciting. Keep at it. Is it without a trophy buck or any buck at all?
arrow32
Dedicated. Hope he gets one one day. Guess Ive been lucky
535hunter
No buck at all. As far as I'm concerned any deer that you are blessed to take is a trophy
redkneck
Are you kidding me? His old lady should have put a private eye on him years ago. Prob going to Vegas or has a second wife. I can hear my wife when I'm headed or the door for the twenty seventh year with nothing to show! Geesh! I average killing a deer with my truck just going to the camp once every five years! Happy new years folks, eat your black eyed peas and collards today!

Scbasshunter
27 years Now that I think about it, sounds sketchy. 27 years? Really?
wtnhunt
Is that no buck at all or no buck with a bow? Serious persistence any way you look at it.
535hunter
I'm pretty sure with no buck at all. Doesn't mean he hasn't gotten doe but not every can hunt as much as other so that might be a factor. Can sound fishy but who am I to dis credit the word of a man I have never met? Just relaying what I read.
jbeck
yep I would quit, I love hunting but I love hunting mostly because of the memories of the bucks I have taken, be it myself or family and friends. If I hunted 27 years and didn't get a buck I would work on my golf handicap during the rut.
Adjam5
Wow...that is quite the story. He needs to find another place to hunt or bring someone who knows what they are doing. I hunted for my first 6 years back in the 80's and didnt even see a deer. So I kind of sympathize.

QUOTE] That reminded me of a story of a guy that went on a hunting trip for the weekend. When he got to his destination (VEGAS..lol) he realized his wife had not packed his underwear. Calling his wife to complain, she informed him she had packed them in his rifle case!:jaw:
Rhino
27 years & still going with no bone to show for it! I sure have to wonder how many naps he's enjoyed in a stand over that period of time.
