LETMGROW
This country needs a law which would prevent any law introduced in reaction to a tragic happening, like we have seen recently, from being passed less than 90 days after introduction. This would give legislators time to reach out to people and get a real feel for the value of another legislative action. This would cut down on the talking heads who want to be seen on TV and touting their agendas and trying to pass ineffective laws. Call it a cooling off period if you like. Grandstanding like our illustrious Governor did this week would be quelled. We don't need to be told what to do. Give us solid facts not a campaign speech. Something I haven't heard about is "people control". While a gun just lies there it doesn't hurt anyone. Put it into the wrong hands and it becomes a dangerous tool. No different than a ball bat or hammer. They are inanimate objects which can't think for themselves. Kind of like our Governor. Toss in the Mayor of NY City too if you like. With 47,000 gun laws already on the books do we need more? We don't vigorously prosecute offenders now because they don't want the additional expense of housing more prisoners. Lynn Pretty asinine to add new legislation when existing laws are not being enforced. Further we have an obama administration who has not held accountable his own appointed officials knowingly involved in illegal sales and transport of a number of firearms. We have at least one dead agent at the hands of guns that the obama admin knew were being sold/transferred to very very bad people, people who are responsible for far more deaths than Lanza and Holmes combined. So lets make sure we get this right, obama officials can let ak's and ar's go to druglords and they can kill mass numbers of mexican police, american citizens, and border patrol agents but they want to take away the right of law abiding citizens to own those same guns?
