LifeNRA
Just a "FYI". The people in charge of this show has now opted to ban all weapons that are considered "TACTICAL". This includes any and all accessories. This was copied from another forum I belong too. I just wanted to pass this info along here, because I know some of you here also go to this show! This is a premature ban as far as I am concerned! Reed Exhibitions, the group who holds the Harrisburg Show in February, will not allow any tactical weapons to be displayed or advertised. This could also disallow the sale of raffle tickets, etc. if one of the prizes is such a weapon. They are claiming it’s a “hunting show” and thus these types of firearms will not permitted. Please spread the word and contact the shows promoters and let them know how you perceive this attack on our 2nd Amendment. Emails, letters, or phone calls may be made to: Reed Exhibitions USA 383 Main Avenue Norwalk, CT 06851 Tel:1-203-840-4800 Fax:1-203-840-5805 Email: [email protected] Be sure to reference the Harrisburg show in your message. VermontHunter
Wow ... are they serious ,,, "It's a Hunting Show" They do have to realize that most hunters are also weapon enthusiast, and go to these type shows to window shop the lastest models of weapons and thier accessories. I can see this show going down the tubes is a hurry, they might want to rethink this rediculas notion.
bbarcheryhunter
Wow!! I was planning on going and checking that type of guns and stuff out there this year....I wasn't there in a bunch of years
LETMGROW
I would like to see a comprehensive explanation of "Tactical" weapon. Do they mean the AR-15 I have hunted coyotes with for several years? Or are they talking about the old British .303 MK 4 rifle I have had for 20+ years? Maybe an M-14 carbine? I went out one night and killed three chucks with my bolt action 22-250. I'll bet the chucks thought that was a tactical rifle. These people are despicable IMO! I won't be there again. Adjam5
My e mail to them. Hello, I have just been made aware that the folks who are running this show will not allow what they deem to be “Tactical” weapons to be displayed/ parts for those weapons or even be part of a raffle? This cannot be the truth can it? If this is the truth...I have to tell you. Last year was the last time I will ever visit your show again. My family and I book a motel room and spend the entire weekend at that show. That stops now. This will hurt the local economy(because of your politics) and I hope enough folks stop going to your show so that will wake you up and make you realize how you are becoming part of the problem . Not part of the solution. Many many hunters and fishermen are serious gun enthusiasts. Do you not know this? For the operators of this show to be part of the pitiful response of Demcraps and liberals blaming law abiding gun owners for recent tragedies is sickening. So again in closing. I will do my best to spread the word( emails and outdoor bulletin board posts) about how the people running the Eastern Outdoor show are part of the anti gun crowd. I will urge all of my friends, family, relatives and co workers NOT to attend your expo ever again. It is a slap in the face of all lawful gun owners everywhere. Thanks for the heads up! Everyone should do this.

Lynn I agree here, and I believe this principal is what will prevent any significant legislation. How about the M1? Perhaps one of the most important and collectable pieces of American history just happens to be a semi automatic assault rifle chambered in .30-06 ... BTW - The Federal Government has been selling these rifles to the public for many years through the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program)
COEngineer
Vote with your pocketbook and don't attend this show. Spread the word.

GReat point Bug...I have been wondering why this was NEVER brought up in any discussions? Teddy Roosevelt started the DCM for citizens to get surplus military rifles to be the first line of defense against invasion and to provide folks with arms to protect against tyranny. Where did America take the left turn? As a NY resident..today I am sick to my stomach. Facts never got in the way of a liberal making a point.
