Switchback29A1
Looking for opinions on the X Tec, V Tec, and Viper Tec. I'm more then likely getting a new bow and I really am looking hard at those 3 and was looking for some feedback on them.
Chrud
Re: Hoyt Bows I shot a XTEC last year. It is a really nice bow. The X and VTEC are basically identical. I would suggest looking into a new 2004 XTEC model. You can probably find one for $100 less than a new '05. The ONLY difference from the '04 to the '05 is the AlphaShocks, which you can buy seperately.
JimT
Re: Hoyt Bows My buddy just got a new 04 X-Tec for $500.00. Very nice bow for sure. If I had the money I would have bought one also. Where are you located? Kittery Trading Post in Kittery Maine has five left.
Switchback29A1
Re: Hoyt Bows Raleigh NC. I have a Hoyt MagnaTec right now and the only reason i'm selling it is because i'm getting a crazy deal for it and I got alpha shocks last weekend at the Dixie Deer Classis, what a difference. I know those are the main 3 and i'm really looking for something short ATA but I have heard so much good about the X Tec and since the V Tec is basically the same thing i'm looking at that as well. Chrud
Re: Hoyt Bows Don't limit yourself to those three. I did that last year. I thought the XTEC would be "my" bow. It was for a year and then I shot the Mathews Switchback and Outback this year. Made the XTEC feel not so good.

Someone get him a doctor! lol.. j/k. Buy what you want...thats all that matters. Shop around for sure though. My buddy tried a PSE, Mathews, and a Hoyt. He decided on the Hoyt. It is all about what feels right to you.

billkay
Re: Hoyt Bows I got an X tec last year. Shot the mathews LX and Outback as well. I really love this bow. Min. vibration, quiet, and accurate.
Tony
Re: Hoyt Bows i have test shot all of these bows.. i tend to lean towards the longer axle to axle bows.. the vipertec is a great bow with a big brace height ( 7 1/2 )its just a little short on axle to axle (32 1/2) .. this might cause a problem if you have a long draw because of the string angle . the Vtec and Xtec are great shooting bows also and with a longer axle to axle ( 35 1/2 ).. they both have a 7 inch brace height which makes them pretty forgiving with decent speed.. its going to be up to you but i used to shoot a short axle to axle bow ( Razortec ) and i sold it for a 05 Ultratec because of the longer axle to axle .. i just shoot a longer ATA bow better... but you might be differant . good luck with your choice im sure you will be pleased with whatever one you choose..
