fly
I really just don't know what to say other than I feel sick! I can't find a recording yet, but watched it live. Limiting magazines to 10 rounds, ban on assault rifles, and the list goes on. Anyone got a link feel free to add.
wtnhunt
Watched too, unclear as to what exactly he signed at the conclusion of his speech as he did not talk directly about that. He threw it all on congress as far as awb and the 10 rd mag limit, dunno if what he signed will address those topics. Found his speech incredibly hipocritical in many places, especially with Holder sitting on the front row as he was talking about guns getting in the hands of criminals. What an arrogant jerk.
gzilla45
My understanding is that the "assault" weapons ban and mag limit needs to be passed through congress. I can't see either of those bills making it through the House.
PotashRLS
I listened and prayed for someone in the back to yell "like your Fast and Furious" when he went on and on about his and our moral duty to protect people from gun violence. He believed nothing he said because he hates all that we stand for. Any gun owner that voted for him should be ashamed!!!!!! We all know that criminals don't follow the law. All he did was further open the door for the government to profile it's own citizens. But then again that is okay for us but not for actual foreign terrorists!! wtnhunt
Have not seen a link to video yet, but here is a link to the list of what his executive action is supposed to address List of executive actions Obama plans to take as part of anti-gun violence plan | Fox News. redkneck
Was not as bad as I had suspected it to be. I did not see the vid, but looking at the highlights if they were reported correctly as to his exec orders, it was surprisingly mild compared to what I had expected. I do not think the awb will pass the house.
wtnhunt
I do not think the awb will pass the house. Afraid he has set this up to be yet another divisive action he will attempt to take on his own, he knows it will never pass. His speech sure seemed that way anyway. too_pointer
From what I gather, he cannot use executive action to ban assault weapons, or large magazines. He can, and probably already signed it into law, having back ground checks on any weapon being sold, gun shows ect. Nobody seems to believe anything will get through congress. I seen gun manufactures stocks went up !! That is at least a good thing. too_
Adjam5
No matter where anyone stands on this issue...hot issues like this should go through Congress. Not by Executive order. The man thinks he is the King of America. He is evil and the worst kind of politician. Did you know that the King has signed into law over 923 executive orders in his 4 year career? That is more than EVERY president combined since Amerika(pun intended) became a nation. W Bush in his 8 years only signed 64...Look it up. That don't sound like a president that believes in the constitution does it? Over 923! I'll say it again...923! This man is pure evil and I can only hope the next president will repeal all of this anti American sentiment.

LETMGROW
This man is pure evil and I can only hope the next president will repeal all of this anti American sentiment. Don't kid yourself for a minute! The Governor of NY is being groomed for the run for presidency in 2016. He will probably get in by a large margin if things stay on the same track as they are going today. We are being set up. With the Hispanic American, Black and Entitlement societies becoming so influential in todays population we are the minority. Watch what happens in Ilion NY if the Remington company folds their tent. This will put alot of people out of work. They will be eligable to receive those entitlements. Sure, they'll be mad at first but as time goes on they will forget that and rely on those entitlements just to exist. If the Democrat party plays it's cards right it will gain not just the former employees votes but those of their families as well. There will be alot more of this kind of doings in the future. Is it any wonder the present Adm. wants to tax the rich? Robin Hood it to the poor. There are alot more poor people in this country than rich people. They will flood the poles come election time. We as so called middle class will be at their mercy even though we will be paying the bills. If we are still middle class. We could be downgraded pretty easily. At this point in time who would you rather have in the Whitehouse? John McCain or who we have now? Better yet, who would you rather have putting a gun control agenda plan together? Joe Biden or Sarah Palin? I know they didn't run last year but had they gotten in 4 years ago I don't think we would be in the shape we are right now. News today the defense budget for the Army base near me has been cut 1.4 billion dollars. All construction has been put on hold, equipment maintenance has stopped, civilian workers are going to be furloughed and several contracts within the community are to be canceled. This is the home base of the 10th. Mountain Division. The most deployed unit in the US Army. They have 2 brigades readying for deployment right now. How can we send these men and women off to fight a war illequiped? Do I feel the effect? Damn right. I do all the service work on the vehicles for one of the civilian contractors. I have spent substantial capital gearing up for the extra work. Now what do I do? The whole economy of this area has grown dependant on the base. Expansion after expansion. Housing, hotels, stores and the list is never ending. How will this effect our expanded school system? It is truly scary! Now they want to start a campaign to eventually disarm the populace. Friends welcome to the new USA. United Socialist America! Lynn
Adjam5
Time to move to a sovreign state like Texas. Which I feel is on the verge of secession. As are other states. Just look at the laws Texas and Missouri have recently proposed. They will jail any Fed who tries to enforce any Federal gun control law. I am looking in Pensylvania now for another home until I retire. This is a band aid type repair and Texas will be the cure when I get there. Looking at land in the Hill Country this Feb 6th-12th. Let someone else foot the bill for the freeloaders of NYS. I have a trade and I can earn anywhere. BTW...I agree about Cuomo being groomed for the monarchy. Dawg
The awb won't pass the house as is. The executive actions (not orders) that he signed focused more on mental health evaluation and studies which I have mixed feelings for. Honestly I expected a lot worse from this. Still think he's a pompous arrogant jerk. Sorry Anthony, I don't see Texas succeeding at all. Succession would be a tricky move. Its got pros and cons and I don't see one out weighing the other right now. I also don't see the newly proposed laws that we have introduced to gain much traction. Federal law trumps state law so that would make this new law that you spoke of nothing more than a feather ruffling posture. It's great idea and I would be stoked if it actually went somewhere. With that said, I still am proud to be a Texan and am glad I was born and raised here. There's a reason why Davy Crockett said "I told the people of my district that I would serve them as faithfully as I had done; but if not ... you may all go to ****, and I will go to Texas." wtnhunt
Don't know all the details yet, but Tennessee along with a couple other states have supposedly passed legislation for those states making federal firearms bans unenforceable and making any federal agents attempting to enforce those bans criminals.
PotashRLS
Much is a smoke screen for databasing gun owners for future use, of which is pretty scarey stuff. Legislation is so full of small print that, like NY State supposedly including Law Enforcement in their bans, they hide gun control and other agenda driven laws that they don't want to go public with inside bills. It is the utopia of corruption.
dbHunterNY
...... Found his speech incredibly hipocritical in many places, especially with Holder sitting on the front row as he was talking about guns getting in the hands of criminals. What an arrogant jerk. for that reason he should be impeached and Holder should be in jail! Although immoral Clinton got impeached for a much lesser act. dbHunterNY
this is my home here in NY. i will not move. i will continue to do my best to push to elect people like Marchione to help fight against stuff like this. i think some with higher legal knowledge should look into what the heck it takes to make NYC it's own state, separate from us here upstate with obviously different interests... then stuff like senate votes wouldn't be swayed by as much as 43 to 18. i understand that of NYC's interests but they do not represent my own and many interests of ny citizens up here. dbHunterNY
DbHunterNY - we here in downstate Illinois are in the same boat due to gun hating Chicago. i know it's "beating a dead horse" but..... Chicago is another place where guns are restricted more than anywhere else. yet there's still more gun violence there than anywhere else in your entire state, as is the case with us here in NY. This is why i said what i said. Also, if your rep hasn't voted the way you want them to then you've got to find out why. NRA can only do so much. stevebeilgard
so far, all i see from obama is smoke and mirrors, a feel good dictation. the supreme court has already ruled on the 2nd ammendment and these dictates will most certainly wind up in court. some judges will throw his stuff out, others will let it go higher. but we know where the supreme court is, and we also know they hate to overturn prior supreme court rulings. this is really where obama and his liberals might add more liberals to the court. we'll just have to wait and see. the nra is rapidly growing and people are sick of the gun ligislation, and we have a new election in less than 2 years. any dem voting for gun control will lose his job.
