trabeau7
I have shot at three deers this year with my bow! Each time I have pulled my head to see arrow. I miss all three! I can't figure out why I am doing that. Any suggestions what I can do to fix my problem?
Ravin R10 man
you need to stay with your form and FOLLOW thru on the shot, this can only be achieved with tons of practice. It also may be helpful for you to talk yourself thru your shot sequence..and then do the same when hunting
KSHoytHunter
Pulling head to see shot This is the thing I struggle with most. I do the same thing when I golf. The more I shoot the less I do it. I also go over a checklist before I shoot. But practice practice practice is how I break the habit

And if you shoot too much, which I sometimes do, lol, your body gets tired and you make more mistakes. When I practice now, I try to not shoot to the point of being tired and I make myself take the time to properly execute my shot - I tend to rush the trigger, but since switching releases, I am getting better....the thing about archery is alot of it is mental so to speak. Tell yourself the hold that pin on target through the entire shot....
dbHunterNY
keep focused on the exact spot you're aiming at until the arrow hits. just takes discipline. you'll find out you can watch the path of the arrow arch all the way to the target without moving at all. dbHunterNY
...also it partly has to do with flinching/punching the trigger at the shot. try shooting really close at a blank target face. keep your focus glued to one spot and keep it there until the arrow hits. move back a little bit once you feel you're not doing it anymore and repeat until you can move back a little more again. Rhino
Down here we call that sneaking a peak & you will always see a bad shot when you do it. Like said above...follow through. I concentrate on trying to see the arrow through my sights to the target or game. If you have problems doing that tell yourself to follow through...follow through...follow through every time you shoot.
hoosierhunter
Pulling head to see shot More practice and controlling your emotions. Your pulling your head bc your too excited and not thinking about what your supposed to be thinking about. Try to replicate the emotion. Shoot against a buddy for 100 bucks or bet your dad your next weekend going out. This will increase your heart rate and force you to pay attention or you lose something you care about.
