What's new?

What's going in the vest this year for the first time? I'm kind of a gear head and I like collecting turkey calls. I end up reverting back to the oldies but goodies, but I'm always up for giving something a shot. Anything new you all are excited about taking to the woods?

I'm probably going to try the Sport-n-Wood Corian two sided crystal over slate. Met the folks at the Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic last year, and they may have sold me on this one. You can not only play the crystal on the top, slate on the bottom, but with the right striker, you can play the corian (stone) pot! Probably not a new concept, but I hadn't seen it before.

Also just saw the new Primos Heartbreaker limited edition glass and box calls...beautiful! Probably won't fit into the budget for this new daddy though :-)

God bless,

Ryan

Not planning on throwing anything new into the mix.

If it ain't broke, why fix it ?

Yep...got plenty of calls that have proven their worth. Switch back & forth between them. Might need to add a few more strikers since I'm notorious for loosing some in the field each year. Other than that, I'll buy a new gobble call to replace my old one that's showing signs from it's sound that the reed inside is drying out. Same kind though.

Hopefully will be able to get a little more turkey hunting in this spring than the past few years. Got to do some digging around in my turkey vest and stuff in the basement. Probably won't be getting anything new, bought an extra box of thermacell refills over the fall, should be good there.
