535hunter
If your plinking and want to stay cheap go with one from Walmart. I wouldn't go out and buy an Eotech if your just messing around. Truglo might fit the bill for you. Can find some decent ones for around fifty bucks. Don't have to worry about jarring it to much since the kick is relatively non existant.
dbHunterNY
for just a .22 i'd go with something that doesn't look so tactical and is expensive. even a reflex style red dot. i'd look at truglo stuff, Bushnell Trophy TRS-25, and BSA .22 red dot (really cheap). Also like i said there's reflex red dots like the Burris Fast Fire II that I've got on my turkey gun.
LETMGROW
I've never been a fan of a red dot type scope on a .22 or any rifle for that matter. In your case I think you would be better off with a 4x scope and standard mounts. You will probably be shooting out to 100 yds., maybe even further. If your target is small, which it normally is with a .22 you will appreciate the magnification. I don't even like a wide crosshair in a .22 scope. With a small target you can completely cover a bullseye with a thick crosshair or even a red dot. The red dots are fine on a shotgun. Especially for a shotgun set up for turkey. The range is seldom over 40 yds. and the target is much larger than a normal .22 target. You can buy a good 4x scope for under $40. Probably less than even a cheap red dot.
