Three weeks from Saturday I'll be hitting the road for Myrtle Beach, SC. We went down there last year and had a blast so we decided to head down again. Gonna stay in North Myrtle Beach this time since it was a little overwhelming with spring break and St Patrick's Day last year. It's about an 800 mile drive from here through the beautiful mountains in PA, WV, VA and NC. My girlfriend mentioned flying down and I said I wouldn't go unless we drive, that's one of my favourite parts of the trip. Plus it's a lot easier with the golf bags etc.

Thinking about taking an extra day or two and coming home through Tennessee through the mountains there (Gatlinsburg area). But we'll see, it'd only be a few hours out of the way.

been there many times... have fun shaun! steve b sounds like he's going on a good vacation too.

i won't be going on any vacations until this fall. before deer season kicks in we're going to Panama City Beach, FL staying right on the beach. Then during winter we'll make a couple trips done to my parent's house in Hudson, FL. Maybe do something crab trap pulling and fishing while there.

Thanks Joe! Got room in the trunk for you if you wanna hop in at the border j/k lol. Decided we're gonna rent a 2013 Impala to take down instead of taking her "shoe box" 2006 Optra down there again. Don't think they have the Optra's in the USA but they're a 5 door hatchback Korean car with a Chevy bowtie on the front. I'm 6'4" and have no legroom in it to begin with in it with the seat all the way back, then pack the trunk full of stuff and the back seat area with golf bags and other crap behind the front seats and I couldn't get my seat back all the way. Felt like an 80 year old man for 2 days when we got there/got home LOL.

We got a wicked deal since the Enterprise rental company is run out of the same building the body shop of the dealership we both work at runs out of. The comfort and power (and fun :clown:) of the 300hp V6 vs the 100hp 4 cylinder that sucks the fuel back like a big block through the mountains, and the security of the cost of a break down, the rental is WELL worth the extra money.
