VTbrshbstr
So what's everybody prefer for holding their bow while in the stand? The type that screw into the tree or the kind that clamp to the stand? I have always used a screw in step wrapped in electrical tape for gun hunting but I want something that puts my bow in front of me.
535hunter
I like the screw in. I haven't used a clamp on. I just don't think it would work well with my API climber.
VTbrshbstr
clamp on or screw in? I could see why the clamp on's would get in the way with climbing stands. I only use hang on stands though. May invest in a climber in the future.
whitetailfreak55
I use screw ins on everything
535hunter
I like it, it's just a pain sometimes. Got to get there even earlier to set up and its not very quite. Its good for public wma's but I preffer a hang on or leaner on private hunting land
dbHunterNY
i use smaller HS screw in equipment hooks.... Accessory Hook | Hunter's Specialties they go in much easier than steps and do less damage to the tree. also i can fit them in any pocket. in some places like public lands you can't screw in anything to the tree. i use a climber then and simply keep the bow in my lap. i have a QAD rest so my arrow stays put. gzilla45
I use the smaller screw-in hooks that db mentions. They are cheap and I've never had a problem with them so i see no reason to change.

I pretty much do the same thing. I have a climber then I use the mini hooks for my pack and quiver. I always keep the bow in my lap.
Turkeygirl
My lap....9 times out of 10 my bow is on my lap...we'll use a nail though as a bow hanger, cheap alternative, but pretty much once I'm settled in, the bow is on my lap.... Rhino
Depends on the situation. When there's a limb in the right position or if I'm in a double trunk, or more, tree so that I don't have to turn & reach behind me to get my bow, I'll use an accessory hook. If not, I'll use a RT easyhanger, the double fold (3 arm) style. I learned the hard way a long time ago that I want to have easy access to my bow where it's mainly in front of me (preferably toward my left side) so my movement is limited when I need to get it & get ready for a shot opportunity. That way chances are I can still watch the deer as I'm getting my bow just in case I need to freeze. I stand up a lot in the stand, usually with my back to the tree and I like to have both hands free for using my binocs.
hoythunter37
I always use the Realtree screw in hanger. I don't like most other ones. They don't seem to hold my bow as well. Cant beat the two or three arm screw in.
wtnhunt
With the exception of one, all my hangers are RT ez hangers.
VTbrshbstr
Thanks guys. Sounds like I'm going to give the RT Ez hangers a try this fall.
Burkef1
Clamp on. Keep the bow as close and in front of you as possible especially if your in the woods where the deer will be right on top of you when you see it for the first time. If your on the edge of a field you will have some chance to grab your bow next to you if it's on a screw in hanger. It's a place by place equipment choice.
