live-concert-300x407.jpgFormer Smiths vocalist and animal rights activist Morrissey was slated to appear on this week’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, until he found out that the cast of A&E’s reality show Duck Dynasty will also be appearing. According to Yahoo News, the Briton gave the show a choice: Duck Dynasty or himself.

Duck Dynasty revolves around the lives of the Robertson family, the owners of the prosperous duck call manufacturer Duck Commander. It is among the most-watched shows on A&E and will premier its third season this week.

“As far as my reputation is concerned, I can’t take the risk being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers,” Morrissey said. “If Jimmy cannot dump Duck Dynasty then we must step away.”

When the show evidently did not agree to his request, Morrissey decided to cancel the performance. The singer is well known for his past activism. In 2009 he walked off a California stage because meat was being served at the concert and more recently Morrissey has demanded that his March 1 performance at the Staples Center in Los Angeles be completely meat-free. It is reported that Staples Center has acquiesced to the musician’s request to make the concert 100 percent vegetarian. Even the McDonald’s outlets inside the center will be shut down during the duration of the event.

The band Churchill replaced Morrissey for the Tuesday airing.

Who the heck is this morrisey guy anyway...a has been if ya ask me.

The Robertsons are in fact a solid family with solid family values. There is NOT one show where God is not praised. How many shows on TV do that?

BTW...Phil Robertson is running for a seat on the NRA board of directors. Check out the ballot in your American rifleman/American hunter magazine. He has my vote!

DD is a very funny show and has a bit of Hollywood mixed into it, but I enjoy it and admire the simple life that these guys live and the fact that they could afford ANYTHING they want. Yet keep it simple.

it's like anything. else if you watch pieces of it or just one show you very well may not be inclined to watch it again. more you watch it the funnier it is and the things you think would make you laugh doesn't so much as the ridiculousness that comes with simple living and everyday life that anyone can appreciate. it's not the little bit of TV show filler that makes it good it's the real stuff. i really like the show. heck i know people that are far from being country livin' and gun totin' and they love the show. it's not for every body as nothing is, but people seem to have taken a liking to it.

as for the veggie gobblin he should check his ego and be respectful to others. calling them a serial killer of animals is just unnecessary and rude.... he's the definition of yuppie!
