250savage
So I went to the gun shop today to try out a few pistols and I came home with one! I was really nervous that they would be sold out of anything I could afford but they had something. From my previous post, I was looking for an affordable 9mm pistol for temporary home protection (until I get a .40 or .45) but mainly to use to target shoot. But here it is: Smith & Wesson M&P

PotashRLS
Very nice. I don't see any reason it has to be temporary. Get proficient with it and it will protect you and your family just as well as the other calibers. The load you choose to run through it for protection is the key factor as to how safe it will work in your home.

dbHunterNY
looks good and as said the 9mm will work for home protection. load it up with 147gr personal defense rounds instead of say 115gr FMJ rounds. best of luck with it!
