RangerClay
Check out this cool video I found. I've read a number of questions in here about sabot slugs over the years. Be sure you are using the correct barrel. This proves it. Turkeygirl
I do, 20ga to be exact with a rifled barrel and Hornady SSTs:rockon: Only got a rifled barrel in the last 2 or 3 years and put it on my turkey gun. Prior to that used a smooth bore and Remington slugs.

MUDRUNNER
Pretty cool vid. I've never seen a slow motion vid of a slug like that. Shows you exactly what a smooth bore and sabot slug will do. I shoot sabots out my Winchester 1300 rifled barrel. I hunted for years with a smooth bore and rifled slugs though.

Anyhoo, I love your buck !! too_
wtnhunt
Have a 1300 smoothbore that came with a rifled choke tube from the factory. Never tried sabots out of the gun, but thought when I bought the gun the intention of that tube was for the purpose of shooting sabots. Gonna have to check out the video. fly
Who shoots a slug gun? I have an 870 Remington express - it has open sights and a rifled barrel - sabot copper solids shoot decent out to about 70 yards. The cost is about 3 dollars a shell which is crazy! I now use a ML most I the time - longer range and more accurate. I have a 20 gauge youth turkey gun - Remington 1100 for my 10 yr old son since the ML is too heavy for him to carry on long hikes. There is a rifled barrel available - Hastings I belie, but some crazy amount like 350.00. I bought a Remington smooth bore rifled sight barrel for 120.00 but haven't tried it out yet. Hope the much cheaper rifled slugs fly try.
