pointing_dogs_rule
Back in the "good old days".. I think that I joined this site in 2000, there were "tons of posts" most every day. Now many sections have very little responses. Am I getting old and is everyone else moving on to somewhere else. Maybe I should get a life??? Well, I still enjoy what I do read on this site. As long as Steve B. stays here it will be entertaining. good luck to all the dog
dlriggins
I feel the same way seems like if you post something it takes hours if not days for the next post. I think that it will increase in the fall but that is 6 months away. Very quiet for the turkey season though. Hellooooo Hellooo Elloo .......nope just keep hearing myself. Shaun_300
Definitely know what you mean, came here in 05 when I was in college, you could post as fast as you could type and you'd always have a response. Lots of changes now I guess though with all the new social media etc.
redkneck
Lots of reasons I'm sure. Personally I think a lot of it is due to the rise of in-state forums, they seem to be booming and of course it's great to talk about local issues and meet your neighbors. Also a lot to be said for connecting with people across the country though too. I'm on pretty much every day though it's mostly quick views with my phone. Ravin R10 man
Buckee left..and it died..but seriously, many of the "regulars" have dropped out, they do pop in here and there. Turkeygirl
I'm still here about every day but lots of regulars are gone....The development of FB, Twitter,etc... have pulled quite a few away I think..
Trevor
I check in every day and read all the posts. If I can't add anything to the topic I move on. I enjoy reading all the posts and everyone's thoughts.
LifeNRA
I do check the forums from time to time. But I no longer sign in. At first there was a sense of being apart of something but that was short lived. I don't think FB and the rest of the social media places is what killed this place. I really do miss coming here, for years the log in page WAS my HOME PAGE!
stevebeilgard
i'm here about daily when i can, but don't post all that much. if marty is right, i must be here for the entertainment value.... lol. ah, well. all is good in wyoming. i go to california for a week monday, then home until may 13 when i go to alaska for the summer. it sure has gotten slow, and no one seems to know why
wtnhunt
Still here every day for the most part. Think most of the old members are still around, just don't post too much. Unfortunate that it is not what it used to be, shame how things happen sometimes, but on the bright side we do still have great people here. Dawg
I think John is right about the in-state forums. I've found a Texas bow hunting forum that is like what this one used to be. I spend a lot of my time on it but do check in here a few times a week. RT was the first forum of any kind that I joined so I'll be around for awhile. fly
RT was the first public forum I joined. I would like to see more new people joining. The contests are always a draw for people. I don't post on turkey hunting because Turkey hunting (in IL) has lost it's luster for me. I didn't even get a tag this year. We have to draw for a resident tag and then if we get a tag we only have 5 days to hunt. We can also only hunt till 1pm. I have to drive 2.5 hours to get to public ground and hope for good weather on the day(s) I get to hunt. If thunderstorms move in then that's it - hunt is over. clrj3514
I check in every day and read all the posts. If I can't add anything to the topic I move on. I enjoy reading all the posts and everyone's thoughts. This is pretty much what I do. Plus I'm a member of an NC forum & I do a lot of social networking. hoosierhunter
What happened to REALTREE FORUMS?? It's a combination of things. 1st so many new media outlets that take up people's time. 2nd is that the forum has taken a much younger turn which turned off several older members. Too much bickering and such. It's tough for someone in the 40+ category to connect with the large influx of youth.
bbarcheryhunter
I still check in every day just to see wats up...don't post a lot either since deer hunting is over but I still enjoy being in here
jaret
I come in here to check from time to time. Been extremely busy working a lot of OT and traveling. It's not as booming as it once was, not sure why, but usually this place gets more busier in the fall.

Ravin R10 man
s tough for someone in the 40+ category to connect with the large influx of youth. Hey, younger gen is ok..I dont mind them at all...if they are on R.T....they cant be all that bad, there is alot of junky sites they could be on..rather see them here, even if I dont care for their taste in music ..it's ok, my parents did not like what I was listening to in the 70's..yup that makes me almost as old as dirt...lol
Ethan Givan
I check the forums almost on a daily basis, but Im usually just in the Lounge, Bow, Deer, or Turkey Hunting rooms. Try to post when I think I can add something to a thread, or when I have something cool to share.
redkneck
I also still think we'd have more new members if it weren't for blogs on this site. I see lots of new folks trying to use the blog to ask questions that really sous be in the forums imho.
Rhino
It's tough for someone in the 40+ category to connect with the large influx of youth. I resemble that remark!:clown: I'm still young at heart though. No problem connecting with youth. I used to be one before they made dirt. Lots of other media outlets out there that weren't around ore used that much a few years ago. Yep local forums too. I check in most days when I'm at home. Can't much when I'm on the road & sure can't when I'm in the woods. It's been that way for me since I joined in 2002 though.
