Back in the "good old days".. I think that I joined this site in 2000, there were "tons of posts" most every day. Now many sections have very little responses. Am I getting old and is everyone else moving on to somewhere else. Maybe I should get a life???

Well, I still enjoy what I do read on this site. As long as Steve B. stays here it will be entertaining.

good luck to all

Lots of reasons I'm sure. Personally I think a lot of it is due to the rise of in-state forums, they seem to be booming and of course it's great to talk about local issues and meet your neighbors. Also a lot to be said for connecting with people across the country though too. I'm on pretty much every day though it's mostly quick views with my phone.

Buckee left..and it died..but seriously, many of the "regulars" have dropped out, they do pop in here and there. I do notice MANY JUST COME TO LOOK AND LEAVE THESE DAYS and not post.

I try to come on early am and later pm myself

Hmmmm...about the time we changed the Orvil office it went south...

I do check the forums from time to time. But I no longer sign in. At first there was a sense of being apart of something but that was short lived. I don't think FB and the rest of the social media places is what killed this place. I really do miss coming here, for years the log in page WAS my HOME PAGE!

I think John is right about the in-state forums. I've found a Texas bow hunting forum that is like what this one used to be. I spend a lot of my time on it but do check in here a few times a week. RT was the first forum of any kind that I joined so I'll be around for awhile.

RT was the first public forum I joined. I would like to see more new people joining. The contests are always a draw for people. I don't post on turkey hunting because Turkey hunting (in IL) has lost it's luster for me. I didn't even get a tag this year. We have to draw for a resident tag and then if we get a tag we only have 5 days to hunt. We can also only hunt till 1pm. I have to drive 2.5 hours to get to public ground and hope for good weather on the day(s) I get to hunt. If thunderstorms move in then that's it - hunt is over.

It's a combination of things. 1st so many new media outlets that take up people's time. 2nd is that the forum has taken a much younger turn which turned off several older members. Too much bickering and such. It's tough for someone in the 40+ category to connect with the large influx of youth.

Hey, younger gen is ok..I dont mind them at all...if they are on R.T....they cant be all that bad, there is alot of junky sites they could be on..rather see them here, even if I dont care for their taste in music ..it's ok, my parents did not like what I was listening to in the 70's..yup that makes me almost as old as dirt...lol

I resemble that remark!:clown: I'm still young at heart though. No problem connecting with youth. I used to be one before they made dirt. ;)

Lots of other media outlets out there that weren't around ore used that much a few years ago. Yep local forums too. I check in most days when I'm at home. Can't much when I'm on the road & sure can't when I'm in the woods. It's been that way for me since I joined in 2002 though.
