3D shoot (equipment)

I am thinking about joining a local 3d archery club. I have never shot 3d before and was wondering if my hunting setup is ok for a 3d shoot. My bow is a pse stinger, 28 in at 62 pounds shooting Easton st epic 400s. I just want to go out and have fun and meet some new people and maybe join the club.

I have alwaysed used my hunting set up but lowered the poundage so i wouldnt be worn out during the 2nd round. I dont know how they are run over there but down here you have 1 round of 20-25 targets then you eat lunch, then do the same round again so total its 40-50 shots. I normally dont shoot that many times while doing a single practice so i lower the poundage so i can at the comps. Then obviously adjust your sights accordingly but you should be good.

you can make a 3D setup with lighter arrows and stuff but it's close to perfect practice to use your same hunting setup. you'll get rest walking from target to target so try to stay or work up to hunting weight. a hip quiver works well if you don't hunt with the quiver on. you can get a cheap one that's simply a tube for $11. also it's good to have a set of allen wrenches with you in case something comes loose. also a square sheet of rubber used to open jars or an arrow puller will come in handy. bring binos with you that are decent 8-10 x 40. something you can carry with you but still can pick up the rings. I've got Nikon Monarch ATBs 10x40 that seem to work.

some places are different but around here you shoot 30 targets. clubs usually break them up into groups of 10 in each section.
