JimT
Depends on what you want to spend. You can spend from $300.00- $5000.00 or more. I am hoping to film my bear hunt myself this fall with just my JVC $300.00 unit. Would rather have a Sony HDR-FX1 type though..... Too rich for me though. AvonLKHunter
Re: Suggestions on video camera for hunting I carry my Sony camera with me every time I am in my stand. I film the deer and my kids get great enjoyment watching them when I get home. Camera costs about 399.

birddog
Re: Suggestions on video camera for hunting You definetly want to spend the extra 75 bucks and go with a digital: I used a Sony High 8 handy cam for years and loved it, however when trying to convert to video and to send to buddies, it was very grainy: I just picked up a Sony Digital 8 - 250: I wanted this model for the mic input/output and speaker connections: They are all good units for videotaping your own hunts: The "new" one is the DCR-TRV 460 Sony digital 8....they are around 350 bucks, but you can find deals online: Hope that helps, but check out the discussions from the links smallmunster provided.
