Turkeygirl
If a utility vehicle/side by side has to be registered in NY? The DMV mentions ATVs but nothing about UTVs....

Turkeygirl
I emailed the dealer and the manager of the store said they don't do DMV registration, most people don't register them. so must mean it's ok to not have to register them. Ravin R10 man
Your DNR office would also know... We must have them reg. in Wis., just like an ATV..plus I got mine Ag. reg. for highway use too, with a SMV sign on the back I can go wherever I want just like a farm tractor/implement
Shaun_300
Yeah the local dealer will know. I know all ATV's, snowmobiles, UTV's and motorcycles have to be registered with the MTO (Ministry of Transportation of Ontario) here. Motorcycles and Snowmobiles have to be renewed nearly with a new sticker just like a motor vehicle, but ATV's and UTV's have a small licence plate/tag that is a one time deal, register once and no annual renewal. Makes no sense at all why you have to pay $80/year to renew snowmobiles and not ATVs. Stupid, but that's the way our government works sometimes....:hammer1:
RangerClay
Edit Right now the only UTV you have to register is the Polaris Razor and that is because of its weight. However I am told there is legislation pending to have all UTV's registered. Did you really think that Emperor Andy would let you have something that isn't taxed? :nono: Edited June 3, 2013 by RangerClay
