VTbowman
I ahve been using mech heads for about 5 years now. I love -em. however, now that I am trying to hunt with a recurve too, I need a 2 blade fixed head for that bow. So I use both now I guess. Mech for my compound all the way... robk
Re: B- heads Mechanical or fixed blades i've shot rocket steelheads for going on my 5th year and have had great success with them and never a problem. i am not one to use just kind so i am trying out the sonic head this year as well and will hunt it first. check it out if you like a ni9ce cut on impact head at www.americanbroadhead.com and see what you think rob k
Guest gt2003
Re: B- heads Mechanical or fixed blades I've killed hogs and deer both with my vortex mechanicals. The best thing is I don't have to resight. I use the 2 1/2 inch cut for deer and the 1 1/2 inch cut for pigs. I'm not saying other broadheads wouldn't do the same, just my experience. Tony
Re: B- heads Mechanical or fixed blades i have always used fixed for deer hunting and mechanicals for turkey hunting... but with the new Tekans on the market and so many guys giving good reports on some of the mechanicals out there i could be using a mechanical of some kind in the future... also since my hunting bow is now capable of 70 lbs i have the horse power necessary to use mechanicals... billkay
Re: B- heads Mechanical or fixed blades I have always used fixed blades in the past but tried out some mechs that were given to me at the ATA show last year. Grim Reapers. This year I have taken 2 deer. One was recovered within 40 yards, the other in less than 10 yards. I'm sold on these heads. AJ
Re: B- heads Mechanical or fixed blades Over the past 25 years, I have used them all. I started with fixed, cut on contact heads, switched to replaceable blade, fixed blade heads, to mechanicals, back to replaceable fixed blade heads, and returned to the cut on contact, fixed heads. Who knows, in 15 years I may be back to mechanicals.
