RangerClay
I had my first brake light go out on my 2006 Chevy truck. I thought, no big deal...wrong! There are 2 screws that I need to remove to get at the bulb. After 6 years they are rusted really bad. I was able to get the first one to break loose but I started to strip the second screwhead. I squirted some penetrating oil and let it sit. Did not help. I fear the screwhead is almost too stripped to work with anymore. I'm not sure what to do next. Shaun, what would you do with something like this at work?
wtnhunt
Gonna guess you cannot get vise grips on it either. Some of the new deals they show for removing stripped screws look to good to be true, never used any of them myself to know if they do or don't work. Sometimes the only option ends up being a small drill bit and an ez out.

Shaun_300
Just drill it out Joe. That'd be the easiest. Get about a 5/16" drill bit and drill it until the head pops off. Then drill out the small end once it's out with a 1/8" bit and replace it with a slightly larger self tapping screw. No big deal.

LETMGROW
Just drill it out Joe. That'd be the easiest. Get about a 5/16" drill bit and drill it until the head pops off. Quite often when you drill the head off and get the circuit board separated you can loosen the screws with vise grips on the remaining broken screw. They can be a PITA. I put a dab of silicone gasket maker on the new screw to aid removal the next time. Lynn
