Strut10
Like hittin' the lottery !!!! Glad I was amply stocked up long before this latest round of insanity kicked in. Who'da ever thunk that in the US of A there would be a day a guy couldn't find a box or two of freakin' .22 shells ?????????????????
dlriggins
We are starting to see a little more ammo on the shelves may not be the brand or variety that you want but it is on the shelf
dbHunterNY
yea it's coming back on the shelves. earlier on I started stocking up a little. i've shot a little bit when I could get out the other day but i've still got around 1400 rounds. $19 for a brick of 300-500 or so isn't bad. last brick I bought was Remington Golden bullet 525 round box. it was around $24. wtnhunt
Wal mart here had 20 boxes come in this morning, was one 330 rd box left when I got there. I probably should have snatched it up but passed it up instead because I still have plenty and don't really need it. Hunting ammo looked much better than last time I was in the store, looks like supply is getting closer to catching up. They had 9, 40, and 45's in too. Zizzer59
After 6 Mo. of looking The only thing you can't find around here are .22, .223, 9mm, and 45mm. 7.62x39 are becoming easier to get ahold of and we just bought an AR-15 lower so looks like I got plenty of time to build the gun before I need ammo for it! lol
dbHunterNY
yea the local gun shops have gotten a bunch of ammo in. I think things are catching back up and they will. even someone hoarding ammo can only justify hoarding so much. so now those of us who buy it to shoot it can get ahold of some. you'd just have to be aware of prices and not pay jacked up ammo prices. the first that's started coming back is 5.56 nato rounds that are bulk green tip or fmj. so if you've got an AR-15 you're better off because you can shoot either, opposed to a hunting rifle chambered in 223. the 223 Rem ammo is trailing behind but still showing up. Ravin R10 man
Gander Mt. in Marquette did not have any .22 on the 4rth, but just about everything else
Shaun_300
Yeah couldn't believe it when Ken (Swamphunter) called me asking me if I would get some for him here in Canada back in April. He said the shelves were empty in NY. I picked a bunch up and ran them down to the US border for him one day after work.
Strut10
Local WalMarts here still have ZERO .380, 9mm, .40, .45, .22 RF, .308, .223 or 5.56, 12 ga, 20 ga.......... and others I'm not thinking of. Jack squat
dbHunterNY
the walmart stores around here are usually picked over the most of any stores.... they usually have some bigger hunting calibers though and shotgun shells. you guys think it's getting worse?? I haven't really been hunting down ammo the last few months.

Strut10
It's not improving here. You can't even find a box of .308 shells anywhere. Sporting goods guy at a local WalMart told me there is a local network of ammo hoarders. Ammo comes out for stocking around 7:00-7:30 A.M. A regular will be there to scoop his 2 box limit and at the same time he hits all the other guys up on the cell phone. They flock in and the ammo........... whatever little bit had come in.............. is GONZO in 1/2 hour or so. I'm glad I am not out or in dire need of ammo to shoot. I don't see our local situation improving any time soon.
